Housing Services in Hyannis!

The slide show presented on this post includes repairs on a Section 8 Building, referred to as a "slummy apartment" by the Recall Organizer of the 2008 Effort against President Janet Joakim, Taryn Thoman. Assistant Town Manager Tom Lynch and Joe Chilli of the Housing Authority both signed the Charter Commission Paperwork of Recall Organizer, Taryn Thoman. Barnstable Town Councilor Janet Joakim lobbied for expanded services to clients of Housing Assistance Corporation in 2003. A number of violent offenders were tracked to the area. There are a number of homicides related to Housing Assistance Corporation that remain convoluted with impropriety. Allegations of influence peddling are under investigation. Councilor Janice Barton of Precinct Ten is the liaison to the Barnstable Human Service Needs Committee. Chief Paul MacDonald now has an integral role as a member of this committee. All are aware of the substandard nature of Barnstable Housing, provision of services to convicted felons, violent offenders and habitual narcotics addicts. The organization is financed with both municipal and federal monies.

Please note the criminal record of handyman, David Gorman. Gorman is a former client of the NOAH Shelter, Cape Cod Psychiatric Services and Baybridge Clubhouse for the Mentally Ill. Gorman was considered the official building repairman for 75 Pearl Street. His arrest record for firearms possession is posted below recent correpondence to Attorney General Martha Coakley. There were several police calls to the building for narcotics related violence. A death on the premises occurred in April of 2009. The Barnstable Housing Authority Terminated the subsidy of the tenant who complained about drug trafficking and violence. Kim Gomez, Leased Coordinator for the Section 8 Program mentioned that Barnstable Town Councilor Janet Joakim of Precinct Six was unhappy with the participation of the tenant involved with the recall effort. Gomez suggested that the decision to remove the Section 8 Subsidy from this tenant involved municipal officials.

Gomez, a former candidate for the Yarmouth Committee on Housing, and Sandra Perry are both former employees of Housing Assistance Corporation. Housing Assistance Corporation and the Duffy Clinic provided housing services and clinical treatment to a number of convicted felons and violent offenders in downtown Hyannis. The tenant evicted is considered a "material witness" in an ongoing investigation involving executives, public officials and law enforcement agents.

Dear Attorney Coakley,

You may be aware of substantial impropriety regarding Housing Assistance Corporation and its convolution with law enforcement in Barnstable County. Negligent and substandard services provided by this organization have compromised safety in downtown Hyannis and Greater Barnstable. Photographs and court documents indicate that the Barnstable District Attorney’s Office is aware of convicted felons, violent offenders and narcotics addicts in proximity to schools, daycare centers and neighborhoods full of children. The human service sector, public officials and law enforcement continue to jeopardize the health, welfare and safety of an unsuspecting public. A number of public officials including law enforcement officials have accepted campaign contributions from these organizations and agencies.

Perpetrators known to The NOAH Shelter, Chase House, O’Neill Center, Pilot House, Duffy Clinic include a number of high profile murders and offenders. Christopher McCowen, convicted in the rape and murder of Christa Worthington, Michael Gentile, serving life for the rape and murder of Melissa Gosule, and Paul Nolin convicted in the rape and murder of young Jonathan Wessner of Falmouth were all clients of the local shelter and patients of community clinics providing services to the indigent. Notorious felons were associated with the Friends of Prisoners Program of Hyannis, The Salvation Army Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen, and Cape Cod Psychiatric Services. In addition, there were a number of violent homicides occurring within the homeless community spanning several decades. Nurses, clinicians and practitioners often prescribed narcotics liberally to patients. This practice succeeded in compounding violence associated with the downtown area.

In 1999, the probation of Christopher McCowen was surrendered by Judge Welsh after he failed to appear at this mandated counseling sessions at Cape Cod Psychiatric Services. McCowen was a patient of Cape Cod Health and Human Services, the outpatient clinic of Cape Cod Psychiatric Services. Cape Cod Psychiatric Services operates a clinic in Orleans, and McCowen was seen as an outpatient at this satellite clinic prior to the homicide of Miss Worthington. Christopher McCowen was diverted into treatment for non-violent offenders at Gosnold Inc./Chris Judson’s Drug Court after her rape and murder in 2002. McCowen lived at three different addresses in Hyannis and was arrested three times by the Barnstable Police Department while on the lamb for her murder. My cooperation with local authorities was elicited in this case, as it was in the homicide of Jonathan Wessner of Falmouth. The arrest of the perpetrator was made after there was a change in the course of the investigation after I provided substantial work product to a number of law enforcement agents including the District Attorney’s Office. Christopher Worthington told me that I should consider myself a “material witness” in an ongoing corruption investigation of Michael O’Keefe and his involvement with the Barnstable Human Service Needs Committee. Mr. Worthington also has copies of the campaign contributions accepted by public officials and law enforcements agents. He was upset about the difficulty this has created for his family and the death of his daughter. I have enclosed receipts for the materials forwarded to Mr. Worthington. He told me to “consider everything relevant.” Mr. Worthington stated that he had connections with you, and was working in cooperation with your office.

In May of 2007, David Gorman, a handyman employed part time in my apartment complex threatened me with a weapon on the premises of this tenancy. I have enclosed his record for weapons possession. He was also a former client of the NOAH Shelter and a patient of psychiatric services at Cape Cod Hospital. Gorman began to stalk and harass me. When I rebuffed his advance, he began making noise complaints about the quality of "church music" I listened to in the mid-morning hours. When the Gorman threatened me, I began to make arrangements to move from this tenancy and from the downtown area.

The Housing Authority was notified of my intent to leave. I was informed that I was aware that I had witnessed impropriety in Barnstable. Kim Gomez, of the BHA told me that their office was told to continue to provide me with services. She also asked me once if I was a “witness”. Gomez stated that she had connection with law enforcement that indicates that this was so. Kim Gomez told me specifically in December of 2008 not to forward any more information to her, not to contact her by telephone or email, and not to visit the office unannounced or without notice. This is a policy of the BHA, and Gomez told me that she did not want to be involved in anyway with my complaints about this tenancy, difficulty with the client/handyman, accounts of violence in the building, or notice of increased narcotics trafficking with specific tenants.

In May of 2008, The Honorable H. Gregory Williams evicted me from my most recent residence. The rent was fully paid at the time I was evicted. I notified the New Bedford Housing Authority that maintains my Section 8 Voucher two days after vacating this unit. Once again, Gomez instructed me to direct all correspondence and concerns to Linda Ramos of the New Bedford Housing Authority. After cooperating with the landlord, Gomez then claimed I did not notify the Barnstable Housing Authority properly. Not only did I forwarded substantial documentation of impropriety to Ramos and the Executive Director of the New Bedford Housing Authority, I immediately made an appointment to discuss concerns with the Leased Housing Department of the New Bedford Housing Authority that granted me this voucher.

On August 5, 2009, Sandra Perry of the Barnstable Housing Authority conducted a review of Gomez decision to terminate my Section 8 Housing Voucher. I presented items that clearly demonstrated that the apartment was not only in disrepair; it became infested with narcotics and associated violence. Numerous documents and photographs indicating that were a number of police and rescue calls were presented to Perry and Gomez. There was a death on the premises after alcohol intoxication and photographs of the coroner removing the body and the Death Certificate of this Duffy Clinic client expiring on the premises was provided. Tenants of this placement were all clients of The Baybridge Clubhouse for the Mentally Ill and The Duffy Clinic. Extensive photographs and documentation of imminent danger, narcotics trafficking, and violence were given to Ms. Perry. These items can be reviewed on www.welcometobarnstable.com.

Sandra Perry, Director of the Barnstable Housing Authority and Kim Gomez, The BHA Leased Housing Coordinator answer, ultimately, to Barnstable Town Manager John Klimm and Assistant Town Manager Tom Lynch. I have enclosed an item that indicates Lynch is closely tied with Housing Assistance Corporation. Both Sandra Perry and Kim Gomez of the Barnstable Housing Authority are former employees of Housing Assistance Corporation. Assistant Town Manager Tom Lynch is the former Executive Director of the Barnstable Housing Authority. Perry and Gomez are both aware of the allegations of impropriety.

Does eviction of a material witness from public housing for insufficient reason constitute witness tampering?

Sincerely,

Mary Clements

Who Knew What and When?

Clients of the NOAH Shelter and the associated O'Neill/Duffy Clinic brought a number of concerns to the Office of Demetrius Atsalis in 1999. Initially, Mike Karath, a constituency writer for Atsalis tookd their complaints seriously. Their was an effort by the homeless community to organize a lobby group and a faction of homeless activists began representing their own interests by approaching their district representation for assistance. John Howcroft, an inspector for Transitional Assistance was dispatched to interview clients about practices at the shelter and to evaluate conditions of the shelter premises. Howcroft also spoke to anumber of homeless clients of the DayStar Program Soup Kitchen of the Salvation Army. Both Councilor Royden Richardson and former Chief John Finnegan sat on the Board of Directors of the Salvation Army. Richardson serves as a Trustee for Community Action of Cape Cod and Islands.

A number of homeless people had been unreasonably banned from NOAH; there had been deaths of elderly clientele in homeless camps. In addition, a number of homicides were associated with the shelter and the associated O'Neill Clinic. The O'Neill Clinic is a satellite organization of Housing Assistance Corporation, and is adjacent and attached to the shelter. The clinic was provided seed money by Housing Assistance, maintains licensure by HAC, operates in conjuction with the NOAH Shelter, and is attached to the shelter premises. Clinicians, nurse practioners, and physicians operating the clinic were well aware of the practices of banning elderly clients to the streets, into camps, and into substandard housing. The clinicians had a long standing practice of prescribing narcotics to convicted felons, including sex offenders. The practice was considered "Harm Reduction Theory", a philosophy promoted by well known theorist, Edith Springer. Springer spoke at Housing Assistance Corporations annual dinner in September of 2001.

As the organization continued to ban clients that complained about dangerous and violent conditions on the premises and surrounding properties, Executives employed by Housing Assistance Corporation were engaged in an effort to expand negligent and substandard services to the neighboring Town of Sandwich. Negotiations were underway for the Dana's Field Project to the Zoning Board of Appeals in Sandwich. Presentations in to the ZBA in Sandwich were being prepared by HAC's Attorney, Michael Princi, Esq. and he represented the organizations interests in this effort. Rick Presbrey, Executive Director of Housing Assistance Corporation, Livia Davis, Executive Director for the Individuals Program at HAC and Tom Brigham, Public Relations Coordinator and Fundraiser for the Dana Field's Program planned an $11.5 million dollar expansion project based on the Moltrup Farm Project in Denmark.

The shematic plan developed by architects designing the project includes two, four bedroom homes for the administration, and Olympic size swimming pool and sports arena, pony and horse stables and a chicken coop with a planned dairy and vegetable stand, all to be run by ex-convicts. The chicken coop abutted homeowners in a residential neighborhood. Concerned parties formed the Sandwich Family Association represented by William Henchy, Esq.

When word that the complaints being made by "digruntled clients" complaining to Demetrius Atsalis reached the desk of Rick Presbrey, phone calls went through to the Office of Demetrius Atsalis and Senator Rob O'Leary. Livia Davis and Tom Brigham were concerned that the complaints would damage the efforts before the Sandwich Zoning Board of Appeals. Both Livia Davis and Tom Brigham, former Directors of the NOAH Shelter, were planning to build lavish homes on site, complete with farmer's style porches, attached two car garages, four bedrooms, skylights and expansive kitchen and family rooms. Atsalis was instructed to ignore the complainants and to consider them merely a few unrecovered unmanageable clients.

Housing Assistance Corporation promised the member of the Sanwich Family Association that serious narcotics addicts and vioent convicts would be screened from the project by an advisory panel. There is a record of these statements obtained from Officials at the Sandwich Town Hall. Convicted felons and violent unrecovered addicts constitute 90% of the NOAH population. Livia Davis stated emphatically to the Zoning Board of Appeals that because "she would be living on site, she would see to it personally that no dangerous offenders would be living at the $11.5 million dollar project. She confided to the Sandwich Family Association that Executives in Barnstable were working on a new and expanded facility in Barnstable. Clients that arrived in Hyannis, and were clients of NOAH, billed to third party reimbursement, would be relocated to a new facility across from the Radisson Hotel. The Mildred's Chowder House/Fish Landing was identified as the new location for these "disgruntled clients" and Davis promised the residents of Sandwich that she would return clients that failed at rehabilitation to the Town of Barnstable.

(Examine list of complaints generated by Demetrius Atsalis Office by Legislative Aide, Mike Karath, and a group of homeless activists. The lobby group was comprised of homeless individuals that noticed the Housing Assistance Organization's practice of unfairly banning elderly people, falsifying documents, ordering unnecessary procedures, and liberally prescribing narcotics to addicts. These efforts were made 2-3 years prior to my arrival in Hyannis in late 2001.)

(Click on images to enlarge. Clearly you can see the organization trying to redefine its image.)

(The NOAH Center claimed that the Duffy Clinic was completely a separate entity from Housing Assistance Corporation. The clinic stated that there were not able to be sued because of Housing Assistance Corporations non-profit status.)

Here is an image of Barnstable Town Council President Royden Richardson lobbying for the expanded shelter services and clinic for relocation to the Mildred's Chowder House/Fish Landing across from the Radisson Hotel. Livia Davis and Rick Presbrey are present, along with Councilor Janice Barton and former Barnstable Town Attorney Bob Smith. Richardson was the liaison to the Barnstable Human Service Needs Committee and has a daughter employed as an attorney by Wynn & Wynn. Michael Princi of Wynn and Wynn represented HAC in the Dana's Fields negotiations. Part of the reason as to why my complaints about sex offenders associated with the NOAH Shelter were not taken seriously is because Richarson as a sealed sex offense history from his days as a Probation Officer at the Barnstable District Court.

Alan Burt, self-proclaimed advocate for the homeless, considers Richardson a mentor, and wrote off "disgruntled clients" as angry, delusional and ill people worthy of being ignored. Burt once suggested that he would like to campaign for a seat on the Barnstable Town Council. View Burt and his comments before Governor Deval Patrick posted below. Many of these executive that were quickly dismissed after this fiasco now work in public policy positions for the homeless in the Patrick Administration.

...and the political games continue! So far there is no resolution on the corruption that caused the violent deaths of many, both homeless and innocent and vulnerable parties at taxpayer expense!

Ah, The Recall Effort of Janet Swain Joakim. The Good Ole'Days!

During the late winter months of 2008, a cleverly designed effort to remove former President Janet Swain Joakim took the Town of Barnstable by storm. President Janet Joakim, the consummate opportunist covered up a number of illegal and improper actions by Town Officials including the dismissal of Chief John Finnegan.

President Janet Joakim was instrumental in the hiring of Interim Chief Paul MacDonald after allegations of misconduct of town officials and law enforcement agents were forwarded to victims of violent crime in Barnstable. President Janet Joakim and Senator Rob O'Leary lobbied in 2003 for the expansion of negligent services to Fish Landing/Mildred's Chowder House. Housing Assistance Corporation was planning lavish and extravagant projects such as The "Dana's Fields Project" and promoting substandard services to clients at the Duffy Clinic.

Joakim was made aware of the compromise to public safety during the August 19, 2003 meeting at the Barnstable Airport Commission. Instead of demonstrating gratitude that the problems were under investigation, Joakim developed a hostile and vicious attitude toward the informant working with federal investigators and public officials.

When it became apparent that Chief Finnegan was responsible for the taking of sufficient bribes to support the human services and ignore problems with violent crime in the downtown Hyannis area, Finnegan was dismissed. Please review postings indicating the former Chief and District Attorney were aware of violence exacerbated in the area.

Clearly, you can observe President Janet Swain Joakim flatly lying to constituents and residents of the Town of Barnstable in regard to her malicious and vitriolic "hate blogging". President Janet Swain Joakim directed the controversial commenter to be forcibly removed from the podium based on items that compromised the stature of the sitting Town Council President.

Please review correspondence forwarded to the Office of the Town Attorney and President Janet Swain Joakim. The commenter removed from the podium apologized and assumed responsibility for President Joakim's assault on First Amendment Rights. To date, Barnstable Town Attorney Ruth Weil, Town Manager John Klimm, President Fred Chirigotis and Councilor Joakim have yet to to interpret the "apology" as a "quid pro quo".

Ruth Weil was stunned to discover that the disposal of all information pertaining to corruption meant that I had forwarded items indicating impropriety to Federal Agents. Joakim was instructed to step down as President, but retained her council seat. Only Joakim is dumb enough to believe that if the offended party left Barnstable, her political problems would simply go away!

Dear Ms. Weil,

Thank you so much for meeting with me last week. As you are aware, there has been a compromise to the safety of a child in the village of Marstons Mills. I have previously enclosed my comments in regard to public safety initiatives for all children. You are aware of my removal from the podium at the Meeting of the Barnstable Town Council of March 6, 2008.

Please consider a portion of the correspondence that has been forwarded to public officials and attorneys with interests in safety for innocent and vulnerable children in the Town of Barnstable. I have been asked to remain in Barnstable County until further notice. My ability to function has been compromised as a result of the actions of President Janet Joakim. I continue my concern for the safety of innocent children throughout the Town of Barnstable. I have apologized profusely in writing to the sitting president of the current council. I am hoping that my specious apology will thwart any other outrageous action on the part of President Joakim in regard to the Wilcox family.

I am hoping that Ms. Joakim will be resigning presently.

Unfortunately, I have discovered a direct connection between Housing Assistance Corporation, your office, and President Joakim. As you are aware, I have complained extensively in the past of the compromise of safety to clients and the greater community because of the reckless actions of Housing Assistance Corporation. In September of 2003, President Joakim supported the expansion of this negligent and substandard service organization. You may be aware of the documents that conclude there is a convolution of this organization with local law enforcement and the Office of The District Attorney. Unfortunately, President Joakim has now involved the Town of Barnstable in an ongoing federal investigation and impending civil litigation.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Sincerely,

Mary Clements

Dear Ms. Weil,

Please review the apology to President Janet Joakim. I truly apologize for any difficulty I may have caused at the Barnstable Town Meeting of January 6, 2008. I understand that I have been at times an incredible annoyance to the members of the Barnstable Town Council. You have been very supportive of initiatives to improve safety in the Town of Barnstable and I am truly sorry for any difficulty I have caused.

I have disposed of any and all information that I have saved over the past seven years and I am looking to get on with my life in a more appropriate manner. Once again I apologize for any difficulty I have caused.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Dear Ms. Weil,

Please review a copy of a document placed on an Internet site this past weekend. Clearly, there is sufficient reason to believe that Barnstable Town Council President Janet Joakim is responsible for provoking and agitating constituents with derisive and malicious comments. Joakim maintains that her “blog” is not a hate blog and that she is not responsible for antagonizing irresponsible speech. The sitting President continues to be a liability and her actions warrant litigation.

You should be aware that my medical records are extensive. The police and emergency services personnel were removing me from a known crack house and transporting me to the emergency room of Cape Cod Hospital. I continued to ask to speak with law enforcement personnel. I was told by both the Emergency Room clinicians and psychiatric providers that my recollections and accounts of living in a documented crack house were delusional and imaginary. I was told by my treating "psychiatrist" that I had no credibility.

I began to photograph and record violence concentrated in downtown Hyannis associated with The NOAH Shelter and surrounding properties. Convicted felons and sex offenders including Christopher McCowan were photographed in the area. You are in possession of photographs of sex offenders freebasing in the backyard of properties adjacent to the shelter forwarded to you previously. I have continued to be outspoken in regard to public safety issues and a compromise to the health and welfare of all children. President Joakim has continued to lobby for funding for substandard and negligent services.

I continue to demand the immediate resignation and dismissal of President Joakim.

Sincerely,

Taryn Thoman and her Terrible Addictions!

During the Recall Effort of President Janet Swain Joakim in 2008, Taryn Thoman of Marstons Mills provided me with ample and sufficient documentation to demonstrate concern over the actions of her neighbor, Christine Howell. Howell is a qualified Registered Nurse with extensive background in providing nursing care and services to new mothers. A maternity nurse by trade, Howell often provided free child care to Aidan Wilcox, child of Taryn Thoman.

During the Recall Effort of President Janet Swain Joakim, new facts about Taryn Thoman and her malevolent anctics came to light. Here are some items that Taryn Thoman didn't want me to know:

Shortly after moving into the neighborhood at Mountain Ash Road, Taryn Thoman began making false allegations of abuse involving school aged children. After observing school aged children playing and roughhousing with her child, Thoman began threatening and intimidating children and neighbors that played with an innocent neighborhood boy. When Ron and Christine Howell discontinued free babysitting for Aidan, Thoman embarked on a vindictive strategy to have Ron and Christine Howell's lives ruined and their four children removed by the Department of Social Services. Over five unsubstantiated claims of child abuse and neglect were made by Taryn Thoman and Dennis Wilcox. Thoman continued to claim that her life was in danger over malicious actions of her neighbor.

Councilor Greg Milne, Tom Dolby, Joe Pino and Oliver Cippollini were present when Taryn Thoman claimed her life was endangered by a reckless nurse. Thoman sought support from the friends and family gathered to commemorate the life of Peter Doiron at the First Unitarian Church in Centerville. A group decision was made to assist me with the generation of a website, www.barnstablesafetynetwork.com and to make a formal complaint against the license of Christine Howell.

Taryn Thoman admitted during the Recall Effort that she had a history of dealing narcotics at Ohio State University and occasionally imbibed in excessive alcohol use. It became apparent in a phone call to Jeannette Chilli on the evening Taryn Thoman spoke before the Barnstable Town Council that she was an active narcotics addict and substance abuser. Jeannette Chilli insisted on driving Aidan Wilcox home for the evening and I had to drive Thoman home after she became intoxicated.

Some of the most serious concern was for improper disposal of needles and syringes strewn and scattered in the driveway of 10 Mountain Ash Road. Subsequently, it was discovered that Thoman was simply pursuing a vindictive, malicious, non-meritorious litigation against her neighbor. Taryn had a substantial history of behavior that demonstrated concern for a number of parties. Thoman admitted that she often ransacked the supply closet at Ohio State University for "some really good stuff". It was discovered that the most likely culprit for the strewn, unused syringes was indeed Thoman, herself.

Ms. Christine Howell
10 Mountain Ash Road
Marstons Mills, MA 02648

Hi Christine,

While I was attempting to unearth the plethora of documents provided to me by your neighbor, Ms. Taryn Thoman, I discovered a number of materials that demonstrate Ms. Thoman has focused much of her animosity on Janet Joakim through you. Please note the email forwarded to Thoman from her sister Therese Marinelli in regard to your nursing license. I have copied both front and back of this document clearing demonstrating that she and her sister conspired to make the complaint on your license. Ms. Thoman was very adamant stating that she wanted an independent party to formulate a complaint on your license. She suggested that her sister’s career would be in jeopardy and that you had vindictively attacked Therese Marinelli in the past. Although she provided substantial materials to show concern, she never provided the amount of video footage she claimed to have in her possession. She did state that the video she provided of you would be instrumental in proving that you “had no impulse control”. Thoman believes that footage is more effective than documents and suggested that the video clip she provided would be most effective to prove a case against your license.

Please note the narrative provided by Ms. Thoman in regard to the hypodermic needles scattered in your driveway on your premises. I continue to be haunted by the conversation we had regarding the quality and appearance of these needles. Ms. Thoman begrudgingly admitted to me that her sister, Therese Marinelli worked in heparin/coumadin studies with physicians developing new medications for thrombosis. She also once admitted to me that Therese let her take materials from the storage closets at Ohio State. The syringes and needles that you described to me appear to be heparin syringes and would be accessible from the supply closets at Marinelli’s workplace.

Thank you for your time and attention. I am hoping for the best for you in regard to the problems at Mountain Ash Road.

Sincerely,

Mary

Tom Lynch, formerly of the Barnstable Housing Authority and Assistant Manager of the Town of Barnstable signed the Charter Commission Paperwork for his colleague, Joe Chilli. Tom Lynch is well aware of Taryn Thoman's addiction. President Fred Chirigotis, Councilor Janet Swain Joakim, and John Klimm are well aware of the number of narcotics offenders and violent felons associated with homeless services.

Tolerance for corruption among political candidates such as Taryn Thoman and public figures like John Klimm and Tom Lynch defines Barnstable. This explains why there was no resolution to the violence plaguing Hyannis and Greater Barnstable. It is currently rumored that Taryn Thoman is supported by COG for a "write-in campaign" in Precinct Ten.

Rescue! Rescue! Rescue!

Another intoxicated party was indentified at the corner of Pearl Street and South Street, in Hyannis. This emergency call was made in early May of 2009. Taryn Thoman is responsible for removing a blogsite that was dedicated to improving conditions for all constituents and residents of Hyannis in 2008. Although the website was intended to improve the quality of conditions for youth and children, resolution on the homeless issue was paramount.

Unfortunately, Taryn Thoman began to show signs of narcotics addiction late in the recall effort of President Janet Swain Joakim. Thoman threatened and attempted to intimadate a recall organizer, resulting in the immediate departure of the driving force behind the recall effort.

Thoman continues to suggest that the homeless cause is integral to the political platform of municipal candidates. Taryn also "believes" she has connections at The Barnstable Police Department and Barnstable Housing Authority. It is true that Joe Chilli, and Tom Lynch signed charter commission paperwork for Thoman. Unfortunately, Taryn Thoman was hardly capable of managing her responsibilities as a mother, her obligations as a homeowner and taxpayer.

Judge William O’Neill
The Barnstable District Court
Rt. 6A
Barnstable, MA 02601

Dear Chief Justice O’Neill,

Thank you for your patience in regard to the eviction proceeding brought against me by my landlords, Tom Noonan and Dan Levesque. As you know I was involved in the effort to recall President Janet Swain Joakim from office last November. You may be aware that there were a number of scurrilous comments placed about me on the Internet by President Joakim and related parties. I saved these items for review by attorneys and law enforcement agents that investigate the convolution of political matters and associated agencies.

A number of compromised tenants were removed from 75Pearl Street after it was determined that residents were at risk of being taped by Taryn Thoman of Marstons Mills for political purposes. Taryn Thoman’s intent to videotape Pam Parisi to extort Councilor James Munafo out of office was reported to Arlene Crosby of The Duffy Clinic, the Barnstable Police Department and ultimately to the Barnstable Housing Authority and Parisi was immediately relocated to Cromwell Court.

Judge Riley commented this morning that he believed that I was “running one of his colleagues, Judge H. Gregory Williams, into the ground” by suggesting that the judge presiding in this matter misunderstood an item pertaining to a security deposit in this matter.

Clearly, there are a number of political commentators that have many kind things to say about your rulings in regard to the matter before the courts last week. Please consider the documentation enclosed that mentions your name in reference to Internet communications and connections to you and the case brought before the Barnstable District Court. Clearly, Mrs. Taryn Thoman of Marstons Mills holds you in high regard.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Sincerely,

Mary Clements

Downfall of A Dynasty!

Flowers from God's Good Earth posted above are portrayed to support the infinite wisdon of the Maker, Alpha and Omega. Only those of such poor character as Ted Kennedy and Taryn Thoman could actually believe that electing a terrorist is anything other than an abomination to God himself. Only Taryn Thoman and her ilk expect deference to pure, unmitigated unbridled, evil!

Dear Ms. Thoman,

Please consider a sampling of the many pictures, correspondence, and complaints I have made over the past seven years in regard to public safety. I am tremendously sympathetic toward the compromise to Aidan’s health and well being. I appreciate the trust and faith that you had in me. Confiding intimate and personal details of such traumatic events can be disarming for anyone. I’m so hoping for an improvement in the standard for safety that you demand for all children.

I am impressed with your commitment to resolve matters pertaining to child health and welfare and I hope you will continue to make this an integral part of your future plans. I see great promise for you as an advocate for children’s rights. I wish you the best of luck.

Yours truly,

Mary Clements

As it turned out, Taryn Anne Thoman of Marstons Mills had no concept of right from wrong whatsoever. Thoman demonstrates no concern whatsoever for the health, welfare, and safety of anybody, not even her own child. How Typical of the "Pro-Choice" contingent! The mantra for the National Organization for Women has become "Me First", and their bible is their new sequel sequel "My Body, Myself"!

Thoman has attempted to drag a number of innocent children and others into a Machiavellian game of "survival of the fittest". No doubt this Ohio State drop-out and sham of a woman expects deference to her own filthy tactics. I am attempting to secure the audiotape of the court hearings involving Thoman and her antics for presentation on this website. Clearly, not a well woman!

Still Paying Homage...?

For eight years, I lived in the Town of Barnstable researching a number of items that compromised the health, welfare, and safety of children. I devoted all of my personal time, effort and money to improving conditions of all of Barnstable's residents, including the homeless. The majority of the problems centered around problems known to Housing Assistance Corporation and suborganizations established and operated by this negligent agency. Substantial correspondence was forwarded to a number of public officials, law enforcement agents and political figures.

Unfortunately, items that compromised a number of high level government figures impeded any type of legitimate investigation into the operations of this negligent organization. In my possession are a number of tapes and documents that confirm a government conspiracy that involved the Bush Administration, Former Senate Majority Leader, George Mitchell, Senator Edward M. Kennedy, and Senator John Kerry. Global corruption is not imaginary. You heard it here first!

To date, a number of local political figures have continue to use the classified information to advance their own political agendas, deny due process, and stymie any effort into an investigation of the organization that exploited criminal offenders and ultimately jeopardized the health, welfare and safety of all of the citizens of Barnstable.

Barnstable, you have been less than grateful!

Once Again, Taryn Thoman Insists on a Tribute for All You Have Done, Teddy!

Feelings of emotional pain and anguish have overcome the quiet village of HyannisPort. The Kennedy gawkers, Eric Schwaab, Taryn Thoman, Janet Joakim, Roy Richardson, Rick Presbrey and the remainder of this ilk have joined hands in unison to pretend they are up close and personal with the Kennedy clan. Obviously, Taryn Thoman was separated from Karla Faye Tucker, at birth!

Expecting deference upon his final passing, Thoman is willing to overlook a number of outrageous actions and conspiracies that were indeed covered up by Teddy. Taryn Thoman, in her infinite state of ignorance, still expects me to be deferential to her hero. Thoman is unaware that Ted Kennedy was aware of a plot to sell weapons to terrorists in 1990, and expects compassion and kindness extended to the corrupt. This is merely a reflection of Taryn's own chaotic psyche.

As usual, Taryn doesn't know what she's talking about, and I would make my opinions known anywhere on the planet. You wouldn't have one to stand on if it weren't for the sacrifices I made. Teddy and Caroline hardly told the truth. For the record, neither did the Bush Administration. I left the Catholic Church and have since left them, too, out of a substantial will. Contrary to what Taryn Thoman and her ilk would like to believe, there is no forgiveness for corruption that offends God in this manner.

Nevertheless, only the likes of Thoman can possibly believe there is forgiveness for corruption of this magnitude. Good luck on Judgement Day, Taryn! If you believe in luck on Judgement Day. Clearly, I don't!

Welcome to Hyannis, all you naive!

Museum is open to the public to allow people to pay their respects to Senator Kennedy

For the next two days, admission to the JFK Hyannis Museum will be free. The museum will be open to the public to allow people the opportunity to pay their respects to the Kennedy Family. The Museum issued the following statment on the Senator's death:

“Over the last 17 years those of us at the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum have had the great privilege of getting to know Senator Kennedy, who was an ardent supporter of our museum.

Senator Kennedy supported the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum from the very beginning and was a frequent visitor. His help and belief in the museum contributed greatly to the success it is today.

All of us at the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum express our deep sadness on the passing of Senator Edward M. Kennedy. Our hearts go out to Mrs. Kennedy, the Senator’s children and all members of the Kennedy family.

We will miss him greatly. He was much more than our esteemed Senator; he was our neighbor and friend.”

The Museum is located at 397 Main Street in Hyannis. 508-790-3077.

While your at it, pay your respects to Taryn Thoman. We have heard that she has encouraged a local blogger to post items that compromise the political interests of the Kennedy family on this website.

Taryn Thoman thinks this tactic might help the homeless, another political issue of which she personally cares deeply. Perry and Marvin are excited to be moving in to 22Mountain Ash Road.

The Kennedy family remains grateful to Thoman for her direct support of the homeless. Their last words as the funeral cortage left the compound were "Better her than us!"

What a Way to Ruin a Perfectly Fabulous Vacation!

First there was the threat of Hurricane Bill:

HAMILTON, Bermuda - Hurricane Bill scattered coral and palm tree debris, causing flooding and power cuts but no casualties on Bermuda on Saturday, then prompted tropical storm warnings for parts of the U.S. coast - including President Obama's planned vacation spot.

Secondly, the way the political winds were blowing, no bouquet toss...

Washington: Chelsea Clinton may get married at Martha's Vineyard on Saturday and rumors are in circulation that president Obama could be the surprise guest.

According to The Times, while official denials of the happy event are strenuous, locals are insisting that the wedding will bring together a mix of celebrities and power brokers -- including the Obama, Clinton and Kennedy families -- in a major gathering of the Democratic Party establishment.

Then there was a chance that Mr. Hotshot Obama might not swing with superstar, Tiger Woods...

EDGARTOWN - Now don’t breathe a word of this. Because nobody’s supposed to know. But word here on the Vineyard is that the Secret Service has scoped out the oh-so-exclusive Vineyard Golf Club to prepare for a possible golf outing between President Obama and golf great Tiger Woods!

Now, THAT is a photo op for the ages.

Needless to say, no one is talking. But the buzz on the links is that Woods - who is coming off an upset loss to Y.E. Yang in the PGA Championship - will hop over to the island for a round of golf with the Duffer-In-Chief sometime next week during the prez’s summer hols.

The presidential golf outing would fit rather nicely into Tiger’s schedule, as the World’s Greatest Golfer is expected to tee off in the Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC Norton on Sept. 4.

At the worst possible moment, The King of Corruption bites the big one...

Sen. Edward Kennedy, the indefatigable liberal icon whose 47 years in the Senate were often overshadowed by his twin roles as keeper and casualty of the Camelot myth, died late Tuesday night after a long battle with brain cancer.

He was 77, and passed away at the famed Kennedy family compound in Hyannis Port, Mass.

The populace is now asking themselves...did we elect a socialist? The health care bill, Kennedy's final legacy is a disaster, Obama's poll numbers are plummeting, and yes we elected worse than a socialist, we elected a terrorist. Good-by and good riddance, Ted, and take the Osama bin Biden Administration with you!

At last, just as I was praying for a miracle!

All Aboard the Train to Hell! It's the Barnstable Transportation Center!

From 2001-2004, overflow of unrecovered homeless clients of Housing Assistance Corporation's NOAH Shelter routinely camped in abandoned trains at the Hyannis Transportation Center. Shelter staff occasionally sent the Outreach Team to monitor intoxicated, pregnant teens living in these abandoned trains insisting that one would not place a "value judgement" on young, impressionable youth living on the streets. Homeless outreach workers have been dismissed after failing to provide adequate services to this population. Martha MacKeon was abruptly fired after impropriety and influence peddling was first observed in 2003.

The executives continued to promote lavish and extravagant expansion projects at taxpayer expense. Cynthia Cole was summoned to urge Chief Finnegan to remove intoxicated homeless teens from the trains. Finnegan spent five months of the year in Florida. The Town of Barnstable had to pay him $315,000 severance to leave under the tenure of President Janet Swain Joakim.

Here is a copy of the letter to Cynthia Cole, Executive Director of the Business Improvement District:

Ms. Cynthia Cole
Business Improvement District

Hyannis, MA 02601

Dear Ms. Cole,

There are a number of photographs enclosed demonstrating conditions at or around the transportation center. As you know there has been an increased effort to provide funding and support services to Housing Assistance Corporation and Community Action Committee of Cape Cod and Islands. Despite the increased support of community leaders such as you, the homeless population continues to present a public health and safety hazard.

I have enclosed some documents that I have previously forwarded to attorneys and public officials involved with NOAH and the Dana’s Field Project. I might add that Alan Burt suggested that clients refuse to cooperate with local authorities and law enforcement during the dismantling of the makeshift camps and specifically in regard to the “trains”. He became perturbed at Susan Durham for speaking candidly and demonstrating concern for teenagers living in the trains. He criticized me at a client advocacy meeting for demonstrating concern for pregnant teenagers intoxicated and using narcotics in said trains. He implied that we were not very bright for speaking openly about camp areas in front of public officials and insinuated that “Roy” meaning Councilor Royden Richardson believed that we should resist the police action and refuse to cooperate with local authorities.

Please note that the camps appear to be reemerging despite the valiant efforts of the Barnstable Human Service Needs Committee. I have enclosed a newsletter established by an eloquent and well-educated former client. His experiences confirm difficulties documented by previous clients. It appears to be the general consensus among clients that the efforts of substandard shelter and clinic are indeed futile. It seems that the mission of NOAH is to insure reimbursement to service providers rather than to insure services to needy clients. Pleas review the tax forms and architectural plans designed for the 11.5 million dollar farm project to which the majority of NOAH clients are ineligible.

I have included photographs featuring clients described and documented previously. For instance, rapist Perry Bell is the narcotics addict freebasing in the backyard of 72 North Street. This particular crack house is located directly behind the Puritan’s Building. The Hyannis Transportation Center is responsible for the trains where homeless squatters have staked their ground. Unfortunately, Billy Bishop and Tim Griffin have been seen at the front of the transportation center intoxicated. Although Mr. Bishop has been known to make some rather suggestive comments, he is basically harmless even when intoxicated. This is not always true of Mr. Griffin. As I proceeded up to the main building to buy my ticket, unfortunately Jose Correira was lurking in front of the station. He has been described in previous documents and has a criminal history of child rape. His stalking, leering and criminal history was reported to the attendant.

Leon Quick not only worked as a handy man for NOAH/Duffy before he molested a child from the Sturgis Charter School, but has since been spotted and photographed leering at women in front of The Hooter’s Restaurant. He has sufficient time on his hands after he was fired from The Day’s Inn where “Kid’s Stay for Free”. The NOAH Employment Specialist and Rehabilitation Team placed him there. As you are well aware Mr. Rick Presbrey has referred to me publicly as irresponsible for suggesting that there is a concentration of criminal offenders at NOAH.

I have enclosed a series that several clients are working on titled “The Crack Houses of Hyannis”. The crack house to which I was banished after drinking soda that I donated is across from Maggie’s Ice Cream and adjacent to the children’s amusement rides on Main Street. I must state that I was warned and disciplined that I should be forced to attend “anger management” for speaking with law enforcement in regard to my experience in this drug den.

Lastly, I have also enclosed photographs of the physical plant at NOAH describing the proximity of the clinic to the room in the sober house where two decomposing dead bodies were consecutively found.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Sincerely,

Mary Clements

Homeless in Hyannis? Show me the Money!

Consider Question One proposed on the ballot in the November of 2008 in regard to a decrease in the State Personal Income Tax. Voters in Towns and Cities across Massachusetts were given and opportunity to reduce taxes by reducing the State Personal Income Tax to 2.65% initially, and eventually complete removal the state income tax. Human Services were up in arms over the proposed cuts, suggesting that the initiative was reckless and dangerous. One of the Human Services lobbying vociferously against the cuts was Baybridge Clubhouse.

Baybridge is a clubhouse for psychiatric patients under the auspices of the May Institute. The facility provides a fun atmosphere for a number of unrehabilitated clients of the NOAH Center. President Janet Joakim and Councilor Janice Barton alerted a number of mentally ill clients that Open Meeting of the Voters would "increase taxes and put their clubhouse out of business". A number of them were bused to the Open Meeting venue at Barnstable High School to protest the proposed split tax debate.

Baybridge has a number of clients that have serious criminal records. Lisa Wheldon was a client of the clubhouse, and was responsible for the murder of her husband Ricky Wheldon in 1993. Her father, a wealthy restauranteur had connections at the courthouse and the Barnstable Town Hall was able to use influence to divert Lisa into a long term psychiatric facility, and bury the death certificate of her husband. Wheldon was stabbed in the night after a drug induced argument, stepped out into a snow bank, and was found two days later. The incident was covered up, and Wheldon was sentenced to spend the rest of her life at Taunton State Hospital. Lisa Wheldon has since been released, and was charged with check kiting in 2004.

David Gorman, a former neighbor at 75 Pearl Street, is also a client. He is responsible for providing me with the photograph posted below. Gorman has a criminal record for possession of firearms and threatening neighbors. The former director of the clubhouse, Heather Lowe, was dismissed after Michael O'Keefe began to cover-up impropriety associated with an allegation of influence peddling subsequent to the Worthington homicide.

David Gorman, Pam Parisi, David Brown, and other neighbors of this building were questioned by executives at the Baybridge Clubhouse, Barnstable Housing Authority, and Department of Mental Health in regard to my activities after reports of criminal behavior escalated and municipal political careers were challenged. In September of 2004, Barnstable Town Manager John Klimm suggested that I would "not be allowed to live" in the Town of Barnstable unless I became a member of the clubhouse. Employed, and researching Housing Assistance Corporation, I threatened to consult an attorney. Klimm was upset about having to fire a number of town employees after the Mildred's Chowder House fiasco. Some have referred to Manager Klimm as "politically paranoid". What do you think?

Dear Mr. Klimm,

I appreciate your words of encouragement to colleagues of the Barnstable Town Council in regard to homeless services. There is not double that the problems created by a negligent and substandard human service industry have become a substantial problem, not only for elected officials entrusted with the development of policy and the allocation of resources. Homeless individuals are often exploited and are considered to have no credibility. Many clients are compromised due to mismanagement of public funds.

Please continue to monitor www.welcometobarnstable.com . It is unfortunate that public officials and law enforcement agents have been unable to understand the convolution of factors that have caused this issue by now. I am grateful for the efforts of some members of the Barnstable Police Department to resolve these matters, in particular, Sergeant Sean Sweeney.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Sincerely,

Mary Clements

Who's Running Barnstable Law Enforcement? A Witch or a Puppet?

Former President Janet Swain Joakim of Centerville has strongarmed voters and constituents by hiring an incompetent and inept Chief of Police. Lieutenant Paul MacDonald, formerly from her own backyard, was promoted to Chief from inside the Barnstable Police Department. Town Manager John Klimm challenged the rules and stipulations on the Civil Service Protocol. MacDonald immediately moved up the professional and social ladder by buying an expansive home off Lake Wequaquet.

Garnering favors for the police department via her relative, Demetrius Atsalis, Joakim not only leans on the police for favors, but has covered up substantial impropriety. Threats and intimidation have become the hallmark of the Joakim era. Not only has she obstructed justice in the investigation of Housing Assistance Corporation, she promoted a detective that threatened to "rape" a subject under investigation to secure job promotion and stature in the Barnstable Police Department. The items have been saved to tape. Joakim's hand sees no limit to nepotism. The sky is the limit on narcissism.

Janet Joakim commanded the Barnstable Police to remove the subject under investigation and confirmed material witness in an ongoing corruption scandal without due cause. The Office of the Barnstable Town Attorney has offered settlements in regard to two separate incidents involving the Barnstable Police under Joakim's command.

Dear Chief MacDonald,

You may want to review the enclosed correspondence and materials enclosed that were forwarded to the Office of the Barnstable Town Attorney this morning. You may be aware that President Janet S. Joakim is threatening to post sensitive materials that may include court documents compromising to member of the Barnstable Police Department including, Valerie Hemmila. Although there is some suggestion that she is considering such and threatening to do so publicly, much of what President Joakim intends to do is being interpreted and reported from people with whom she has confided.

Please consider and discuss what you want to do about this with Ruth Weil, Esq. and President Janet S. Joakim. As you may know there is an ongoing federal investigation into the actions of a number of public officials and under most circumstances, I have been asked to refrain from contact with the local police department for a number of reasons. Once again, Joakim’s actions, as with yours not only constitute impropriety but may also indicate and be evidence of gross illegality.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Mary Clements

Hey, who's attacking who folks? Not only were the First Amendment Rights of this speaker denied, Joakim deliberately demands Detective Valerie Hemmila to remove the speaker along with newly elected Chief Paul MacDonald. The incident involving this speaker and Detective Hemmila includes an attempt to "cut off the victim's hair and rape the defendant" to secure a job promotion and professional advancement. The incident is under investigation. Detective David Cameron was immediately demoted, and a settlement was offered to the victim from Bob Smith, Esq. Attorney for the Town of Barnstable at the time and on his tenure.

Janet Joakim and Taryn Thoman. Two Peas in a Pod! Now, Can We Jettison Them Both into Outer Space?

Taryn Thoman of Marstons Mills and President Janet Swain Joakim entered into a political "war of the wits", with little consideration for collateral damages and casualties. Lou Gonzaga of Spring Street recruited me to collect signatures for "Open Meeting of the Voters" in March of 2008. Neither Joakim, nor Thoman, was qualified for the political positions they assumed. Thoman has little understanding of the political process of The Charter Commission, smarting over he defeat by the manipulative and conniving Joakim. Both women used slander and underhanded tactics to remain in power, demonstrating the lowest standard of ethics. Obviously, not smart!

Neither Thoman, nor Joakim understood that running a smear campaign to advance their personal agendas, and not a political platform was imprudent. Despite Taryn Thoman's inablility to manage finances, or control her outrageous behavior, Councilor Greg Milne considered Thoman an asset to the Charter Commission. Citizens for Open Government thought that the position of "mayor" should be advanced without consequence and at all costs. Janet Joakim had a long standing history of calculating and malicious behavior. Thoman was equally as manipulative. Both brought their personal experiences and vindictive personalities into the political arena.

Janet Joakim, "wishy washy" over Wequaquet.

Dear Ms. Hutchenrider,

Thank you for your time and effort in regard to my questions in regard to specific provisions of the existing town charter. Your information was quite helpful and I am expressing my gratitude extended by a number of parties asking for clarification on specific points of the charter. As you know, there were detailed questions in regard to the appropriate formulation of a recall effort in regard to Precinct 6 Councilor, President Janet C. Swain Joakim.

As the formulation of this effort is in the inchoate and rudimentary stages, I would appreciate your continued forbearance in regard to this initiative. It will take some time to define specific parameters in such a petition. Although the items of concern are compelling and tenable, the definition of the issues is extensive and complicated. I have sought the advice of an attorney in regard to the effort. Citizens for Open Government is requesting a copy and computerized disc file of voters currently registered to vote in Precinct 6. Please let us know of any and all fees required to provide such data.

Currently, we are asking for further clarification on the point of tenure in regard to President Joakim. There is concern that after the lines of Precinct 6 changed, Joakim may have run for a term that was not within the purview of the existing charter. My understanding is that Joakim’s initial two years as councilor qualified as a term before the constituents of her precinct initiated a successful gerrymander. There are a number of parties wondering if President Janet Joakim intends to pursue another term and campaign for her current position.

Would you be kind enough to clarify this?

Sincerely,

E. Mary Clements

Candidates are for the Birds!

Former Barnstable Town Council President Janet Swain Joakim has been less than sensitive to the interests of women, infants, and children. Joakim has been advised on numerous occasions that Housing Assistance Corporation's NOAH Shelter operated at a dangerous standard. The number of violent, convicted felons was remarkable, and public officials were admonished that firearms and narcotics infestation were prevalent on the streets of Hyannis. Rather than accept responsibility, Joakim attempted to cover up impropriety by inappropriate control of law enforcement.

Taryn Thoman, also a past contender for political positions developed a number of harassing videoclips and campaigned with behaviors that were clearly, below the bar. Clearly you can see that arguments over children's interests now plague Barnstable. Neither Joakim, nor Thoman demonstrated genuine sensitivity to the interests of youth. This website has posted a number of items that demonstrate insufficient concern for public safety. Janice Barton continues to campaign as the incumbent in Precinct Ten. The end result of intensive work on human services is John Norman, formerly of the Zoning Board of Appeals challenging her position.

The check posted above was photographed and posted by Taryn Thoman. Thoman's personal finances are equally as poor, and she is hardly solvent. The quality and standard for services in Barnstable remains less than stellar. The mere mention of improvement of police officers and law enforcement agents results in foul postings and comments on a number of websites. Unfortunately, my association with Citizen's for Open Government only resulted in more grief and discontent.

Hyannis, MA 02601

Dear Mr. Clark

Clearly you have responded to the request of the people to consider change to the current town charter. Your efforts to embrace as many constituents, residents and voters as possible are gratefully acknowledged. We appreciate your comprehensive efforts to research and review the needs of this community before discussion and dialogue begins in regard to your findings. Your forbearance and patience has been outstanding. Much discussion among the body politic is controversial and at times contentious. I have enclosed a “letter to the editor” of the Barnstable Patriot that was printed in 2004. The author, Ken Moulton is commenting on the “smell of town hall corruption. Mr. Moulton writes in support of cronyism in town hall government and questions the qualifications and appointment of Paul Niedzwiecki as Assistant Town Manager.

My personal opinion is that Paul Niedzwiecki was eminently qualified and highly capable of serving in the capacity of Assistant Town Manager as he is with the Cape Cod Commission. Furthermore, he had the political acumen to know when to abruptly resign and run for cover when the smell of town hall corruption became a stench. The point has once again been made that nepotism is in play in regard to the current problems with the Zoning Board of Appeals. As you are aware 80% of the current sitting board of Appeals just resigned. Although I am a great proponent of improving child safety here in Barnstable, it appears that the issue of where liquor stores should be zoned was a matter of family proprietary interest and not one of public safety.

The sitting town council president and her colleagues is calling for more citizen involvement and requests that constituents consider sitting on boards and committees. Unfortunately, when critics disagree with the agenda and policies of the status quo, innocent people are deliberately attacked and maliciously maligned over the Internet. This can include attacks on innocent children. One candidate for the charter commission has a child who was referred to as a “kid of convenience” by the sitting town council president.

There is an even number of charter commissioners at this time. My understanding is that you may also be split on dramatic changes to the structure of city government. It is imperative that you unify and consider what is clearly in the interests of this great town. Citizens for Open Government is asking that you strongly consider more accountability, responsibility, and a unified comprehensive approach to government. We suggest that you strongly look toward approval of a charter providing for an elected mayor.

Sincerely,

Mary Clements

These two tacky videos were developed and posted by Taryn Thoman of Marstons Mills. As you can see, there is no serious or genuine concern for any political issues between the likes of Janet Swain Joakim and Taryn Thoman. Two peas in a pod!

So, Is Barnstable Really Going Down the Toilet?

The Barnstable Town Council and Barnstable Town Manager John Klimm are airing plans to build a $165,700,000 waste water treatment plant serving Centerville and Marstons Mills. Residents and constituents are expressing concern that this proposal includes a potential of $100,000 - $150,000 in sewer plant betterment fees. 320 Stewart's Creek homeowners are expected to endure $30,000 betterment costs to connect to the 50year old Wastewater Pollution Control Facility. The average home in the Centerville area involved are in the $250,000 price range. Calculations show that these homeowners will pay 40%-50% more for these homes in the near future.

Citizens for Open Government directed by Gary Lopez maintains 1100 - 1200 signatures and anticipate delivering completed petitions by 3:30PM, Monday@ The Clerks Office of the Barnstable Town Hall. John Julius is directing the campaign and can be reached at (508)237-2700.

These items were posted on www.capecog.com by Gary Lopez and Eric Schwaab of www.capecodliving.blogspot.com.

1. Foreclosures in Your Neighborhood

The quickest way to end up underwater is to live in a neighborhood that's plagued by foreclosures.
When one home on your block goes into foreclosure, your home's value drops by 1%.

But that isn't a one-to-one relationship.

If two homes on a block go into foreclosure, your home's value will drop by more than 2%.
As homes go into foreclosure, they create a domino effect, lowering home values throughout a neighborhood in a cascade beyond homeowners' control.

2. Homes Lingering on the Market

When "For Sale" signs linger in a neighborhood for three or more months, that may mean buyers and sellers can't agree on a price.

In that environment, homes are unlikely to sell unless the seller lowers their asking price.

3. Increasing Unemployment

In most cases, the cities where homes have lost the most value during the past year also possess the highest unemployment rates.

4. Homes in Disrepair

Dented siding, peeling paint and broken porches could be signs that neighbors are having trouble making ends meet and can no longer pay to take care of their home, Zandi says.

Or they may have gotten an appraisal and discovered their homes have dropped in value and are no longer worth the cost of repairs. Inevitably, as the condition of homes in your neighborhood worsens, home values are likely to drop.

"The mere fact that they're not investing in their homes will affect you too.”

What Underwater Borrowers Have in Common
Risky Mortgages

Some 77% of option-ARM borrowers and 50% of subprime mortgage borrowers were estimated to be underwater as of the first quarter of 2009, according to the Deutsche Bank report.

With option-ARMs, borrowers could make minimum monthly payments that didn't even cover the loan's interest. As the market declined, these balances grew over time.

With subprime mortgages, borrowers often had poor credit scores and little documentation of their financial situation. In both cases, borrowers often ended up with a large mortgage relative to the house's price.

Date of Purchase

Individuals who bought their home between 2003 and 2008 are at risk of being underwater because they bought while prices were rising.

The risk is greater for those who bought between 2005 and 2006, as the market approached its peak.

Excessive Borrowing

Many individuals borrowed against their home when it appreciated in value during the bubble by taking out a second mortgage or tapping into a home equity line of credit or home equity loan.

This borrowing left their home with less equity to weather the drop in home values.

If 10% of Barnstable is unemployed, another 26% is retired, and 50% of the homes are underwater on their mortgages, how the hell are we going to finance a $1 billion dollar sewer program with municipal liens? With this program, the town will own half the housing stock in Barnstable in five years. Folks will be mailing their keys to the Assessors Office and leaving town.

Homeowners living off Waquaquet Lake include Chief Paul MacDonald, handpicked by Joakim after the dismissal of Chief of Corruption John Finnegan, Judge Joseph A. Reardon, who placed convicted felons including, Christopher McCowen, in treatment for non-violent offenders, Councilor Tom Rugo, and my all time favorite fool, Alan R. Burt. Burt became the self-proclaimed advocate for the homeless after suggesting in 2002 that he would like to build a campaign platform and become a candidate for the Barnstable Town Council.

Cancer is more than just a zodiac sign. Hey good luck with your effort folks!

Hyannis a virtual ghost town, today! Gee, I thought the metropolis would be booming with business after I left this "God forsaken peninsula"! Well, I never...! Especially since I was told I was the problem! Ah...the perversity of selfishness! If I didn't know any better I'd think we elected some sort of terrorist, last fall, or something! ...or did we?

The loss of that Recall Effort had more of an impact on municipal development, national economic scene, and global structure including imminent terrorism than you may realize. So much for "me first" and "me too"! I hear that the CIA has opted to show no mercy. Although you didn't need my help, I was able to retrieve more evidence of reality, today. I've got more documents, tape, and video from my safety deposit box.

As far as small town stuff, anyone figure out why Laura Schufelt was in the Unemployment Office, Faxing materials, and what's up with the look on Tobey's face when I head up North Street for post office to offer help, today, anyway? Hey All-America, local municipal political figures really are rubbing elbows with the political big time! At least they are now! Evil knows no political party, no race, no religion, no ethnicity. In point of fact, it has been determined to encompass all things offensive to God. Lastly, how's the old, liberal bastion of corruption doing these days?

Is he dead, yet?
